Wyatt Alexander Smith has entered the world!

The little guy has finally arrived. Wyatt Alexander Smith was born on 4-22 @ 4:22 am.  He was 9 lbs. and has lots of black hair. He is adorable I must say!  It was an amazing home birth. We were there from early evening to birth.  Being the true rednecks that we all are, we pulled our camp trailer to their house and parked outside...that sounds even stupider as I write it...haha. To our defense, their house is small and there was a lot of family there. More room for naps and the kids loved having it there. But it was kind of funny. We ate tacos, played guitars, annoyed the pregnant lady and had a great family time.

Baby Wyatt ended up being born in the bathtub. I guess in a home birth you never know where you may end up at that moment. I was there for his first cry, got to hear his momma say.."it's a boy" (I had already told her that..duh!) and I got to cut the cord, well I tried. I had the scalpel backwards but I eventually got it right. There were enough of us that someone would have eventually figured out how to cut through that thing. We woke the girls and Ivey (7) said "I prayed it was a boy!". She was so excited. Bethany (4) was in awe of the whole situation.

The amazing part of a home birth is that it is so relaxed. We sat around, held the baby, ate, talked. Some took cat naps. I don't think Brynna slept a wink until the next day.   It was a surreal event and I am so thankful for a daughter and son-in-law that wanted to share it with us.  I guess they never really asked...we were just there.  LOL!

A little guitar session!!

Still Waiting...

No baby yet! We had a productive weekend though. We decided to get some things done before baby. Put some red highlights in Brynna's hair, cut Carter's hair, did my hair and dyed her CALIN BLUE GUAZE WRAP using the PROCION DYES FROM DHARMA. I capitalized because she had to tell me all these words and I have no idea what they are and what they mean. Whatever happened to a piece of fabric and some Ritz dye? Anywhoooo, it turned out green instead of blue, but since it was sort of a Lucille Ball attempt she can't be picky! I tried!!

This is NOT the new baby!!

Baby is coming!!

My daughter is due to have her 4th child any day now. I am getting pretty excited. She is doing amazing but very ready to hold this sweet baby. This pregnancy was definitely an answer to prayers for their family so that makes it even more precious! Her children 7, 5 and 3 are excited to say the least. She is a "real woman" hahaha..and has her babies at home without even a midwife. It does help that her husband is an EMT and her mother in law (across the street from them) is a nurse and father in law is an MD. And I, well, I like to think I am pretty savvy  in the medical world. After all, I have had cancer. I just know that she will want me there and need much of my wise advice. Who knows, maybe she will want me to deliver that baby. I doubt if I will do the episiotomy (do they even do that anymore?).  I am ready.....

As for me...just been working in my studio. I cleaned and organized the studio, although to outsiders you probably would not notice any difference. But I know...Everything has its place now!  My husband seems to think he can just walk in my studio when I am creating, but today I made sure he knows that he really needs to knock when leaving the house...into the garage (studio) and out the door.  How rude!! Good thing I married a patient man. He would love to park a car in there. Ain't gonna happen honey!

Weight loss journey update...lost 1/4 of an ounce after 2 weeks diet and excercise. Went out tonight for beer and mexican food, and lots of it! I checked into lap band surgery today. You have to meet an awful lot of requirements to be able to have  insurance pay for the procedure. Crap! My husband said he would knock my teeth out, but I told him that would never stop me! I will just have to carry on...

So between pinning, facebooking and eating, I am a busy girl. I will be checking in soon..hopefully with news of a new baby and a 30 lb. weight loss.  I can dream..
